Guardian Safety Consulting LLC goes beyond risk management and safety compliance, as our scope includes more than just auditing safety procedures and developing health and safety programs. Guardian Safety creates and assists in implementing business processes and procedures that are practical, efficient, and sustainable in order to promote the safety and well-being of every individual within an organization as well as the health of the organization itself.

How do we do that? We focus on three core values: competence, commitment, and connection. These values intertwine to produce many desirable results including improved health and safety, more efficient and cost-effective work processes, and greater quality in both products and work environment. Let's take a look at each one of the values in turn.

Guardian Safety seeks to draw out the competence of a company's employees, especially in regard to safety. We see two main reasons for subpar work in workplaces: lack of motivation and lack of education, both of which Guardian Safety strives to address.
The first workplace issue is lack of motivation. The daily grind can lull employees into passiveness and ambivalence in their roles, which in turn can lead to serious injuries to individuals and huge liabilities for companies. All the education in the world will mean nothing to an unmotivated worker. Guardian Safety works with leaders to develop strategies for health and safety that can encourage employees from the top down. Guardian Safety is here to support top management in developing initiatives to elevate their organization's health and safety.
While education without motivation lacks followthrough, motivation without education leaves employees unclear about action steps, diminishing confidence and putting proper implementation of health and safety processes at risk. Guardian Safety offers safety training in English and Spanish about health and safety topics (ie: electrical safety, First Aid, machine safety, lockout-tagout, etc.), which we tailor to each company's needs.
By supporting leaders in their interest in health and safety and by educating workers within the organization, Guardian Safety fosters both competence and the motivation to use such skills.

Along with motivation, employees must demonstrate commitment to health and safety. At Guardian Safety, we walk through the proper implementation of a company's health and safety procedures by involving employees in their own safety. We assist management teams to motivate and educate their employees, ensuring written programs become consistent practice.
This is where Guardian Safety goes beyond risk management to instill the value of safety and of human life. In the United States, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has put forth legal requirements for ensuring workplace safety, but OSHA's purpose is to make safety a priority, not just a checklist of rules and regulations. Guardian Safety does not just take OSHA at its word but further pursues the intent of OSHA laws.
This sounds great, but the bottom line of business, money and profit margin, can seem in opposition to safety as a priority at times. Guardian Safety helps companies navigate this sort of conflict. We recognize profit margin is what keeps a business running and that to cut into it can put the entire company at risk. Guardian Safety also wholeheartedly affirms that a price cannot be placed on human life and that caring for employees' safety is one of a company's main responsibilities. Therefore, we help think through ways to achieve both safety and profit simultaneously. Commitment by a company and its employees is vital to effective implementation, and Guardian Safety develops workable, effective, and cost-efficient solutions to which commitment will benefit everyone involved.

Besides fostering competence and commitment, Guardian Safety clarifies the connection between safety and a company's other business processes. We emphasize the fundamental significance of safety in the workplace and highlight how safety relates to other business processes, such as production, quality control, shipping and distribution, and human resources. By integrating safety into a business's basic procedures, we ensure efficiency and effectiveness of its health and safety practices.
Guardian Safety recognizes and encourages another effect of pursuing safety: working toward a common goal brings people together. With many natural divisions between employees, whether because of role within the company, ethnic origin, or just personal conflict, commonalities and shared goals play a central role in organizational unity, which in turn increases efficiency, work quality, profit margin, and importantly, safety. At Guardian Safety, we see the pursuit of safety as a vital end itself and also as an effective tool for building bridges between people.
Putting It All Together
So far, we've seen what activities Guardian Consulting involves itself in and how we go about our work with the three core values of competence, commitment, and connection, but we haven't directly addressed why. Why do we hold these values constantly in mind? Why do we create and support implementation of health and safety business procedures that benefit both the employees and the company? Why do we take the time to understand a company's processes and tailor training and safety programs to each organization?
We've touched on it, but put plainly, the value of each individual drives Guardian Safety. Everything we do is motivated by the belief that each and every person has worth, that a price cannot be placed on anyone's life, and that work is for the people, not people for the work. Ultimately, the people are what make a company run, so whether seeing safety from the standpoint of organizational function and profit margin or simply through empathy and compassion, we come to the same conclusion: we must protect our workers.
At Guardian Safety Consulitng LLC, we work to achieve employee health and safety. We recognize the need for cost-effective solutions, and we do not forgo this consideration in how we work. We pursue health and safety both for individuals and for the organizations they make up. We hope you will join us in effecting workplace safety, and we are here to support you.
